Dr. Lee Schneyer is a licensed psychologist in private practice in Rockville, Maryland. He worked on the inpatient psychiatric unit at George Washington University Hospital as a psychiatric technician while completing his M.A. in Counseling at GWU. He then worked as an extern at the Child Guidance Service of the Jewish Social Service Agency (JSSA)  while pursuing his doctorate. Dr. Schneyer received his Ed.D. in Counseling from GWU in 1981. He completed his post-doctoral training at JSSA and was licensed as a psychologist in 1982. Dr. Schneyer was then employed as a staff psychologist at JSSA while starting a private practice. Dr. Schneyer has been in full-time private practice since 1993, providing psychotherapy to adolescents, adults, couples and families. In 1996, Dr. Schneyer completed his M.B.A. in Finance at Johns Hopkins University. He has been studying Emotionally Focused Therapy since 2006 and was certified as an EFT therapist in 2013. Dr. Schneyer is a member of the American Psychological Association and a Fellow of the Maryland Psychological Association (MPA). He has served on the Board of Directors of MPA as the Membership Chair and as the Chair of Financial Affairs. Dr. Schneyer is a past president of the Washington Independent Services for Educational Resources (WISER).
